How to read books?
Before we move forward, you first need to understand the true meaning of reading a book. The purpose of this article is to help you realize what these books are actually trying to teach us.
Generally, books fall into two categories:
1. Knowledge-Based Books: These are books like science and math textbooks. These types of books require constant practice and revision. They are relatively easy to understand, but they are often only used for a fixed period of time (like passing a class or an exam). After that, you usually do not need them for practical, real-life situations.
2. Personal Growth Books: These books have the immense power to turn our lives around from the bottom up. They are usually based on a person's lifetime of research and experience. They are written in different categories—some focus on mastering power (like The 48 Laws of Power), while others teach you financial intelligence (like Rich Dad Poor Dad). Even though the topics differ, the process of creating them is the same: deep research and real-world observation.
These personal growth books are the ultimate key to our success. Why do I say this?
Look at the world around you. You are not the first person to exist. Countless people have lived and died before you, and you are simply walking the same path they did. Therefore, by reading about their experiences, you can figure out the solutions to problems before those problems even happen to you.
The Three Types of People in This World:
- People who make mistakes but do not learn from them. They repeat the same errors again and again. These people have no future; their whole life becomes a joke.
- People who learn from their own mistakes. They do not repeat their errors and try to improve over time. These people do achieve success, but it takes a very long time because they choose to go through the painful process of failing themselves.
- People who learn from other people's mistakes. These people achieve success faster than anyone else.
This world operates on a very simple rule: if you make unnecessary mistakes, you delay your success. But if you avoid mistakes by learning from others, success comes automatically.
TRUE or FALSE: The situation is exactly what it is—either true or false, with nothing in between.
How to Apply Personal Growth Books
Personal growth books may seem easy to read, but truly understanding their deep meaning is very difficult. Many people read these books and assume they have grasped the real message, but often, that is not true. The purpose of these books is not for you to just read them over and over again; their true goal is for you to actually apply their lessons to your real-life situations.
Building a reading habit is not hard—you simply need to set a fixed time to read each day. The best times are usually in the morning and at night. However, this is not a strict rule. If you only have free time in the evening, then that is your best time to read.
You also do not have to limit yourself to just one book at a time. Think about when you were in school; you read multiple subjects in a single day. You can read multiple books in a day as well, but with one strict condition: you must read them carefully and truly understand their meaning.
In the present time, we have a great advantage: audiobooks. However, there is a specific method to use them for maximum benefit. First, read the book deeply yourself, and then listen to the audiobook. Because you have already studied the material, listening to the audio summary afterward will help you absorb and understand the concepts incredibly fast.
There are many categories of books in this world, but I love two of them the most:
A) Power Books: These books (like The 48 Laws of Power) reveal the truth about human nature and how people actually think about us. Many people hate these books. They believe they spread lies and cause people to lose trust in one another. But that is not true. Smart people know that power games are happening everywhere. So why would you hold back your own power? You must move forward and build your strength so that nobody can crush you, and no one can stand in the way of your goals.
B) Financial Books: I believe everyone should read at least one book in this category (like Rich Dad Poor Dad) to become financially independent. A person who is not financially independent will always need the support of others. You must understand this clearly: people who are fully dependent on others cannot easily achieve their own life goals.
YOU STILL HAVE A CHOICE.
