The Hidden Power of Feelings

If you pay close attention, you will realize that feelings play a massive role in our lives. Why? Because we don't have full control over them.

Today, let's talk about how feelings actually work. Broadly, feelings can be divided into two types: A) Weak feelings; B) Strong feelings

Let's break down the first one.

What Are "Weak" Feelings?

Weak feelings include emotions like anger, guilt, ego, sadness, and love.

Don't let the name fool you—these feelings actually have a huge amount of power to control your mind. We call them "weak" simply because our ability to control them is weak. They are very easily and quickly triggered by other people's influence.

The Dark Side of Love

Let's take love as an example. Most people believe that loving someone only brings happiness and the motivation to work hard. That part is true. But everything in this world has two sides, and love has a very strong dark side.

You have probably seen people who love someone more than their own life. But what happens if they lose that person? Suddenly, they feel like their life has no hope, no goals, and is completely meaningless.

But you and I both know that isn't true. Losing someone does not mean your life has become hell. There are always other people in the world to love. They might not be exactly the same as the person you lost, but you have to accept the situation and move on.

The Illusion of External Influence

The most important thing to understand is how easily these weak feelings are influenced by watching others around us.

  • The Illusion of Power: You might see someone with major anger issues and notice that people are scared of them. This might make you think that the angry person is powerful. But that is not true; they just lack control.
  • The Illusion of Need: You might see a couple deeply in love, sharing all their pain and secrets with each other. Watching them might make you think, "I need to fall in love too." But that is also not true. Does that not mean love feels the same way with you?

The Core Lesson

To sum it up: these are called weak feelings from our perspective because they are easily triggered and heavily controlled by outside influences, rather than by your own mind.

B) Strong Feelings

Now let's talk about strong feelings. These are the exact opposite of weak feelings. They do not easily take over or control your mind, and more importantly, they are not easily influenced by other people for a long time.

In this category, we have feelings like:

  • Discipline for your goals.
  • Positivity in every situation.
  • Consistency in doing the hard work.

These are the powerful feelings that actually help you achieve your goals and do great things in your life.

The "Discipline" Misunderstanding

Now, you might be reading this and thinking: "Wait, discipline is an action. Being positive is a mindset. These are not feelings!"

But that is not true. If you look at every great and successful person in the world, they always talk about discipline, positivity, and consistency as if they are feelings. Why?

Because when you are truly dedicated to your goal, being disciplined actually gives you a deep feeling of happiness and satisfaction while you do the hard work.

So, you need to understand this: discipline is not just "work" or a strict rule you force on yourself. Being disciplined is a feeling itself, and it is one of the strongest feelings you can have.

The Chart of Feelings: The 90/10 Rule

If you look at all the emotions in our lives, 90% of them are weak feelings, and only 10% are strong feelings.

Many people make a big mistake here. They think they can take weak feelings—like ego, love, or guilt—and use them in a "strong" way to motivate themselves. But you must remember what we discussed earlier: all of these weak feelings have two sides, and their dark side is incredibly powerful.

If you think you can control these weak feelings and use them in your favor, you need to have a perfectly strong mindset.

But where does that perfect mindset come from? It does not come from your ego, guilt, or any other weak feeling. That bulletproof mindset only comes from building the original strong feelings we just talked about—like real discipline, deep positivity, and true consistency.

The Final Step: How to Master Your Feelings

So, how do you actually control those weak feelings and adopt the strong ones?

It is very simple: You need to start seeing feelings as tools.

Do not take them too seriously, and stop overthinking them. If you think too much about any single feeling, your anxiety and stress will only increase. You must understand this deeply: in this life, feelings are simply tools meant to help us survive and achieve our ultimate goals.

Control Them, Or They Control You

Always remember this rule: If you do not control your feelings, your feelings will control you. People who let their emotions steer their lives end up with nothing, because no matter what they get, their feelings will never be fully satisfied.

Instead, you should only focus deeply on the strong feelings that help you grow. Treat all those other "weak" feelings as tools that you can use depending on the situation.

The Art of Adapting

You have to use feelings according to the room you are in.

  • If you are feeling happy, but you are surrounded by people who are sad—use your tools and behave as if you are sad.
  • If you are feeling sad, but everyone around you is happy—use your tools and behave as if you are happy.

Why should you do this? Because if you do not let the external situation actually change how you feel on the inside, the situation takes control of you. You gain nothing, and you end up losing your own inner peace and focus.

So, always adjust your outward behavior to match the situation, but never overthink the situation on the inside. Use your feelings as tools, keep your mind focused on your goal, and stay in control!
